A Glanzmann Thrombasthenia podcast

The Bleeding Edge

A condition long observed. A burden long carried. A conversation long overdue.

Glanzmann thrombasthenia is often described as a rare platelet disorder defined by bleeding symptoms. But for patients, caregivers, and clinicians, the lived reality extends far beyond that definition.

This five-part podcast series features four immersive episodes and a culminating roundtable conversation that together examine what it means to live with GT in a system that has long recognized the condition, yet continues to grapple with its full impact on everyday life.

Through intimate conversations with patients, caregivers, and clinical experts, the series explores the gap between what is known about GT and what is experienced in real life. From daily symptom burden and care coordination challenges to the ongoing effort required to access appropriate treatment, The Bleeding Edge examines the visible and invisible weight of GT, and what it demands from those who live with it along with those who care for them.

Join the Episode 5 Round Table Conversation

August 18th at 7:00 AM PST

We want your voice in the room!

Following Episodes 1-4, The Bleeding Edge wraps with a recorded virtual round table conversation bringing together patients, caregivers, and healthcare providers for a candid, no-fluff discussion about what life with Glanzmann thrombasthenia actually looks like.

This is a space for real experiences, real perspectives, and real conversation across the full spectrum of care and lived experience. Together, we’ll unpack the themes from the series and get honest about where the gaps still are in understanding, treatment, access, and support.

We’re building a conversation that hasn’t really been held this way before, and it only works if every voice is in the mix.

Participants will:

  • Share lived experiences, clinical insights, and care perspectives

  • Respond to key moments and themes from the podcast series

  • Join a broader conversation on visibility and progress in the GT community

  • Help shape a documented discussion rooted in real-world experience across patients, caregivers, and providers

This round table conversation is in partnership with CHES Foundation and EquiPath Analytics.
